The USS Cod will honor the 81st anniversary of her rescue of the crew of the Dutch Submarine O-19 with a reenactment of the crew transfer and a celebration of friendship between the Netherlands and the United States. Free admission from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

The Federal Reserve (or “the Fed”), America’s central bank, was established by Congress in 1913 mainly to conduct monetary policy. But how were these policy decisions handled before the Fed existed? Join us for a journey through the history of American monetary policy—including the crises that led to the Fed’s creation—with Owen Humpage, Cleveland Fed economist emeritus. This event including a Bank Tour is free, but space is limited and Advanced Registration is Required.

USS Cod Submarine Memorial and the International Women’s Air and Space Museum will jointly celebrate their 50th anniversaries with a salute to Rosie the Riveter and Rosie lookalike contest at USS Cod. Free submarine tours and deck gun demonstrations along with judging of the Rosies. USS Cod is docked at 1201 N. Marginal Rd., on Cleveland’s North Coast Harbor. Anyone wishing to pay tribute to Rosie is invited to come dressed as America's secret weapon for winning the war and enter the contest!

Enjoy a taste of the past as you learn about how people cooked and what they ate. Teacher and historic foodways enthusiast Elizabeth Greco will prepare some early American recipes and discuss some of the major changes in cooking and baking of the time period.
